On this great day, March 26 1976, Hailson Prabu Bose, son of Dr. K. Bose and Mrs.
Indrani Bose was born. His presence in the midst of their parents was a blessing and a joy.
Prabu soon grew up and attended Kodaikanal International School in India. Again, his
presence was a blessing to the campus community. His musical abilities were envied by all.
He was part of the campus jazz band, brass choir and concert band. He was a spiritual role
model in the campus. He was selected as a student deacon by the church. Likewise in sports,
he dominated gymnastics, ping pong, and volleyball. Academically, he was dumb.
After Prabu thought that High School was a waste of time, he embarked on a 17,000 mile, 18
hour, 2 day flight to Wisconsin Lutheran College. Though he was an affable character, many
Americans did not like him for his practices and beliefs. The college community chastised him for
his harem of approximately 44 women. This chastisement greatly discouraged Prabu - his universe
was falling apart. He needed something to hold onto. After this brief setback, Prabu returned to
his first love of volleyball and sold all the women. He did not need women's love anymore,
volleyball was all he needed!! Yes, he had found the answer.
Since then, Prabu has been an immense contribution to the volleyball team. His cheers from the
sidelines has always encouraged the team. Outside of volleyball, he is a finance major and a
history minor.
Prabu hopes to go to Sydney 2000 as the only Indian to have participated in Ping Pong,
gymnastics, and volleyball. He also wishes to get into Law School for the pure pleasure of
learning.
We all wish him well - - God bless his soul!
